Here is a little sneak peak of a painting I made for the Magic Show opening tomorrow night and curated by the magical Jess Worby. I’d actually show you the entire painting, but I did a terrible job scanning it, so you’ll just have to come out and see it in person. I know it’s a bit of a trek, but consider it a fun adventure—how often do you go to Crown Heights? Plus, there are TONS of other talented folks showing, it’s a fund-raiser, and there will be beer. For the Asics project I made a whole bunch of animated gifs for the different competitors in the race. I’ll post them here throughout the next week.

asics project

I have been spending much of my free time lately working on an illustration project for Asics and the New York City Marathon. The fellows at Vitro (thanks KT, Schuyler, Paul and Mickey!) contacted me to illustrate the fastest American marathoner Ryan Hall and a number of different competitors. They then took the pieces and animated them, and this is part of a gigantic installation in the subway station at Columbus Circle. Above is a short clip of a couple of the “races.” I’m afraid my video does not do the final product justice, so get yourself up to Columbus Circle and look at it!
