studio update

Sorry it’s been a while since my last update; school is winding down for the holidays, and it’s been pretty crazy around here. But I thought I'd quickly share an update of how my studio looks after one semester. You can see the before shot here.

new york

This week's assignment in my computer class was to continue to further our knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. The theme was "New York". I chose to illustrate a portrait of the creator of Central Park, Frederick Law Olmsted.

indigenous person of america plastic toy

Here is my other drawing for this week's computer class. The assignment was to illustrate one organic and one man-made object. This plastic toy is obviously the man-made. The mole below is the organic.

paintings

Here are my paintings up to this point. We are now finished with the still life and have moved on to the model. Have they improved since the beginning? I'm not sure; I'm certainly no great master.

for my philly friends

We're learning how to use Adobe Illustrator in my computer class. For our most recent assignment, I decided to draw a star-nosed mole. Hi Samantha and Andrew!

more posters

Here are a couple more in my series of posters for book seminar class. These are still in progress and are subject to change. I feel a little frustrated by this project. I wanted to do this master's program so I would do more drawing and less designing, and I've somehow let this particular series turn into more of a design project. It's too late to switch at this point, but I plan on using as little of the computer as possible for all upcoming projects, no matter how much of a struggle. I need to get out of my comfort zone..

i llove llamas

llama
The theme for the past two weeks in computer class was "transport" during which we learned how to animate in photoshop. This is a somewhat edited version of my solution.
